Questions
What families ask us
How does admissions work?
Families inquire, visit, apply in the winter and hear back in March. The admissions page lists each step and the months they happen in.
Can we visit before we apply?
Yes. A visit day is a morning in a classroom and a talk with the principal. Children are welcome to come along.
When are open houses and visit days?
Open houses are in October and January. Visit days run most Wednesdays from October to March.
What is a day like?
It starts at eight with a teacher at the door and ends at 3:15, or at 1:45 on Fridays. Arabic comes first, lunch is halal, and the midday prayer is after lunch. The day page has the whole schedule.
How does tuition work, and how do we ask about financial aid?
Tuition depends on the grade group and after care. Financial aid is available; here is how to apply: a short form after the application, read by the principal and a board member. The tuition page has the details.
How big are the classes?
Class size is on the programs page, by grade group. The office confirms it at the visit.
Does my child need to know Arabic?
No. Arabic classes start with letters and sounds at every grade, and each class begins where the students are.
Who is welcome?
All families who want what we teach are welcome. The school day is in English, with Arabic and Islamic studies taught as subjects.
What about lunch, dress and phones?
Hot lunch is halal and ordered by the month, and families may pack lunch. Students wear a plain uniform, and phones stay in backpacks. The family policies page has each answer.
When do we hear back?
Every family hears in March, by letter and by phone, as long as the application came in before the deadline.
